Our Cross-Country Adventure, Day 32

We packed up our gear and left our hotel in Louisville, KY. There was a small lake next to the hotel with a fountain pushing water into the air. I couldn’t resist a photo of our Tesla, Cala, with the fountain in the background.

In Berea, Kentucky, we started going through the mountains. Ronnie and I much prefer this terrain to the flat, monotonous terrain that we encountered during our adventure.

We supercharged and had lunch while the car charged in London, Kentucky. While we were there, I noticed another Model X with a great license plate. I couldn’t resist the photo.

Take notice of all the bugs on the front of the car. Ronnie and I have battled them our entire trip. We wash the car every few days, so we are not embarrassed by a buggy front end. We love to see giant American flags along the road, and I try to take a photo when I can. This one was taken in London, KY. God Bless America!!!

On Route 90 in Williamsburg, KY on our way to Cumberland Falls Resort State Park, we had some beautiful, colorful forest views.

We finally arrived at Cumberland Falls Resort State Park. It is known as the “Niagara Falls of the South.”

They were all decorated for Halloween. Happy Halloween, Everyone!!!!

I am playing catch up on the second half of our trip as we had to rearrange the first half due to a glitch in Denver. I never checked the direction of the falls, and the afternoon light was terrible. I did the best that I could.

There was more to see along the river, and we loved the scenery.

Just south of Williamsburg, Kentucky, we were greeted with a welcome to Tennessee. We high-fived each other.

We were now in the Cumberland Mountains and the ups and downs were dramatic and beautiful.

In Caryville, Tennessee, we experienced the Tennessee Cross. This cross is 101’ tall.

Our journey for the day ended in Knoxville, Tennessee. We decided that our last few stays at Hampton Inns were so-so. We thought that we would try Drury Inns and Suites. We had seen them along our journey, but we had been happy with Hampton. We booked a room for the night, stopped to pick up a sandwich for dinner and checked in. We found out that the hotel offered free dinner for registered guests as long as three free drinks and a free breakfast. This is so much better than the two bottles of water that I got as a silver member of Hampton’s. We will certainly by staying at Drury’s whenever we can.
