Please understand that this web site is intended for photo buyers, i.e., those who are interested in paying a fee to use our images for a certain period of time. These images are NOT FREE. These images are NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN.
Licensing Requests
In order for use to quote a licensing fee, we need to know specific details of your intended use of our image(s), including: advertising/editorial, medium (e.g., text book, magazine, brochure, postcard/calendar, annual report, wall display, web site, CDROM, etc.), print run (how many copies of the product will be produced), rights (regional/domestic /worldwide, nonexclusive/first/exclusive, etc.), time period (six months, three years, one time, etc.), delivery (duplicate film, original film, 20MB digital file, drum scan, etc.).
Image Delivery
Image scans can be provided on CD, Iomega Zip Drive 100 OR 250, OR via email. They can be stored in any format compatible with Photoshop or Illustrator, including JPEG, TIFF, Bitmap, GIF, etc. 35mm duplicate transparencies are available. Originals are available by negotiation.

We encourage you to browse through the thousands of photographs in this site. Please understand that they are NOT FREE -- they may be licensed for a negotiable fee. The content of this site is made available for purposes of researching or licensing images offered by Herb Segars Photography. No image is to be copied, duplicated, modified or redistributed in whole or part without the prior written permission from Herb Segars Photography.
Our livelihood as photographers is predicated upon making photographic images and licensing rights to use those images. Please know that these images are costly to produce and that we do not give away their use. Please respect domestic and international copyright law, and understand that copyright law is what makes professional photography possible and protects a photographer´s ability to market his own creations.

Web Site Use
Web site use (i.e., OUR image(s) appearing on YOUR site) is no different that any other use -- it requires a licensing fee and a properly executed licensing agreement. We do not allow display of our images in exchange for a credit line and/ or a link only, regardless of the orientation of the web site in question (e.g., educational, non-profit, charity, personal, etc.) - the display must be accompanied by a fee and agreement.
Student Requests to Use / Borrow / Take Our Web Site Images
We receive numerous requests from students and well-meaning organizations to use our images in school reports and on school or personal web sites. Please know that these images are costly to produce. Please respect domestic and international copyright law, and understand that copyright law is what protects a photographer´s ability to market his own creations. We will supply images on a limited basis for student reports on an individual basis. E-mail us with your request.
Printed Reports
Teachers please note that our images do NOT fall under any "fair use" law, unless you have purchased a text book that includes the image. Students may use the images (JPEG files) appearing on our site (www.gotosnapshot.com), in their PRINTED REPORTS ONLY, provided all of the following are met:
- The image is not altered in any way. In particular, this means that the name and URL stamped on the image are not altered.
- The image is reproduced in print, as part of an academic report, for one-time distribution in a classroom setting ONLY.
- No distribution other than this is authorized. Use on the internet or web is specifically NOT allowed.
- Proper acknowledgement of the photographer is included in the report, with a statement similar to "ABCXYZ images courtesy / copyright Herb Segars Photography, all rights reserved worldwide."
