Screen Saver #1: NEW JERSEY ARTIFICIAL REEFS
The screen saver currently contains 40
images of New Jersey Artificial Reefs. All but two are wide angle underwater photos. Images included are from
the USS Algol, the Cranford, the Dykes (Steel Schooner), the M-60 Army Tanks, the Rockland County, and the Spartan.
There are plenty of captions providing information about the sites. This screen saver is the result of years of
diving on New Jersey Artificial Reef sites. To preview images, please click here. To download, please click here.
Technical Underwater Photography Information
The techniques used to make the Artificial Reef wide angle photographs are unique in underwater photography. All of the underwater
shots in the screen saver were made using a single lens reflex Canon F-1 or Nikon N-90 camera in an Ikelite, Aquatica or Nexus
housing. I used Kodachrome 200 speed film, a 16mm or 20mm lens, a lens opening of f5.6 to f8, shutter speeds of 1/4 to 1/8 second
and one or two wide angle Ikelite flashes set on one quarter power. The long shutter speed allowed me to use the available light
for true wide angle perspectives in the low light levels found off the New Jersey coast.
Screen Saver #2: JELLYFISH & OTHER PLANKTERS
The screen saver contains 71 images of jellyfish, plankters, pteropods,
and a marine snail that looks like a jellyfish. All the images were taken off the coast of New Jersey except for the Portuguese
Man-Of-War which was photographed off North Carolina. Included species are the Lion's Mane Jellyfish, Purple Jellyfish, Mushroom
Cap Jellyfish, Portuguese Man-Of-War Jellyfish, Leidy's and Ovate Comb Jellies, Many-Ribbed Hydromedusae, Horned Salp, Naked Sea
Butterfly, Plankton Worm, Straight Needle Pteropod and the Atlantic Corolla. Click here to see a preview of the screen saver.

I have provided a sampling of some of the images below. Many of the images included can be found in the Stock Photo section under
the sites noted above while others are brand new.
Screen Saver # 3: MANATEE MAGIC
This is the first screensaver that I made. I plan on revising it this winter but it has some great
photos of manatees. All pictures were taken in the Crystal River - Homosassa Springs area. Click here to see a preview of the screen saver. To download, please click here.
Screen Saver #4: Turtles
Some marine animals are more exciting to see and photograph than others. Turtles are a real favorite of mine. I have seen and photographed turtles in my home state of New Jersey, off the coast of North Carolina and in the Bahamas. This screen saver has some great turtle images including images of a leatherback turtle. Most divers will never be in the water with a leatherback. I was one of the fortunate ones. It was not only fortunate for me, it was also for the turtle. To find out more about that encounter, visit my special encounters page. This screensaver has 64 images and it's max resolution is 1280 pix wide. It has an option (enabled) to shrink to other resolutions. To preview, the screensaver, click here. Screen Saver #5: Manatee2
My original manatee screen saver has been so popular that I decided to offer another one. This one has all new images that were all taken with a digital camera. The images taken of the manatee on it's back and doing acrobatics were taken holding my underwater housing with one hand while I scratched the manatee with my other hand. This screensaver has 63 images and it's max resolution is 1280 pix wide. It has an option (enabled) to shrink to other resolutions. To preview, the screensaver, click here.
