New Jersey Marine Life

I have spent a lot of my photography career photographing the marine life off my home state of New Jersey. It amazes me how little most people who live or visit in our area know about the mysteries that lie beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean. I have done many slide presentations to thousands of people over the years. Now that I am entirely digital, I am doing programs on a laptop and using an LCD projector. As I get older, I seem to have less and less time for my presentations. I have created short flash presentations that will introduce you to the marine life that I love so much. The presentations were originally done in PowerPoint and have been converted to Flash. I used Flash because I can also introduce you to some of the characters that help me do what I do. I hope that you enjoy them. I would appreciate any feedback that you have. These programs were made with Adobe Flash. If you don't have the newest flash reader, you can get it by clicking here

New Jersey Reef Fish and Sand Dwellers

New Jersey has some strange looking fish. The monkfish is an example. It is a member of the anglerfish family. This presentation will introduce you to cunner, black seabass, tautog, sea robins, sea ravens, winter and summer flounder. I have tried to include the most common fish found on shipwrecks, artificial reefs and rock piles off our coast. You'll learn something about each of the fish and you will get to meet my helper, Sam. New Jersey Invertebrates

New Jersey has an abundance of invertebrates and some like the frilled anemones are very beautiful. This presentation will introduce you to many of the more common and a few of the less common species that I see when I dive in New Jersey. You will meet, Paul, another one of my helpers who will guide you on your journey and explain a little about each of the species. Click on the photo to the right or here to view the presentation.

New Jersey Midwater
and Surface Marine Life

There are many species of fish, invertebrates, jellyfish and other plankters found in the midwater and on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean off New Jersey. My niece, Susan Nichole, will take you on a tour of some of the terrific species of marine life found off our coast. Many of these species are overlooked by SCUBA divers who don't know that they exist. Every trip from the surface to the bottom can be an exciting journey, not just a means to get from point A to point B. You will see jellyfish, marine snails, ocean sunfish, tiny fish that use jellyfish as protection from predators, banded rudderfish that prey on those same tiny fish and some marine mammals that are really special.
