My daughter was also in a severe automobile accident and suffers from severe T.B.I. (July 20, 2007) She has been successful with H.B.O.T. We took her to The Healing Institute in Margate Florida, about 25 minutes from Fort Lauderdale. Ashley has had about 120 dives. Ashleys balance, speech, strength, and vision all improved along with reduction of medications and no more meds for bowel program.
I also decided to take Ashley to the X-Cell center in Dusseldorf Germany for a stem cell treatment using her own bone marrow extracted from her hip to get the stem cells. (one treatment costed 6450 euros=less than $11,000 usd.) It is rediculous how long this is taking the U.S.A. to get this approved by the F.D.A. It baffles me how a rat poison to be injected into joints that has to be re-administered every 3-4 months can be approved but this is not. Anyhow, my experience with stem cell treatment was amazing. It was simple, almost as easy as giving blood and later getting a shot in the spinal fluid. All of this was done with local anisthetics. Ashleys down time was about 3 days on her back alot and it was difficult for thoses three days after the stem cells were injected into the spinal fluid to sit and get up from a sitting position or laying down. It has only been 3 weeks since Ashley was injected with the stem cells. Her ankle and hip on the right side show a significant reduction in spacticity. Ashleys right arm she can lift up and control a punching movement. Ashleys finger contol has improved. Her posture is alot better. Ashley used to hang her head forward alot, her head led her body when she would walk. The only time I see this now is when she is extremely fatigued or tired.
We are already discussing going back for another treatment in 5 months.

Rented "Coma" from the public library and googled to try to find an update. So glad things are progressing. Thank God for interaction. What a supportive family!

Great news! Often wondered why the medical community didn't do more with hyperbaric chambers. Say Hi to all!
