Our son, Tom, suffered a traumatic brain injury three and a half years ago. He was in an HBO documentary, COMA. I have a few update pages on my website about Tom and I haven’t added any updates recently because I need to respect Tom and his wife, Lynda’s privacy. Our family really opened ourselves to the world during the filming of Coma. We did it in the hopes that at least one family would find it easier to get through a difficult situation after watching how we coped with our situation. Tom and his incredible partner, Lynda, were married on May 30, 2008 and they are very happy together. Tom continues to recover and although it is much slower than we all want, it continues and we thank God for that. I was telling Tom about the number of hits that I get on my website on his page and he was thrilled. We talked about doing something special for the holidays to update his page. The following was his choice. The video will auto start. Please use the play button below to replay:
Happy Holidays from all of us. Thanks for caring about Tom. If you would like to leave any comments, I will make sure that they get to Tom and Lynda.

Recently saw the HBO special & I was happy to hear the news of how well Tom is recovering. I am currently in school for nursing and watching each familys progress on the documentary really motivates me.
Congratulations on the wedding, God Bless you & your family and familys that are in similar situations.

Greetings and Happy Fall!
I watched the HBO Coma documentary last night (10-26-09) and was deeply moved, especially Tom’s journey. Yes I was touched by your family’s encouragement and support for Tom’s but even more so in Tom’s determination. Even early on in his recovery you could see his strength. Bravo!!
It is a story such as his that makes one really evaluate one’s own life. I thank you all for sharing! I am certain you have made in a difference in many viewers lives.
Please extend my heartful thanks and well wishes to Tom.
Tell him greetings from Ohio!!!
Regards,
Janet Costantino
