Too bad you did not photo that big white chin on the Veronica M , you would need a very very large cover!

Hi Herb – I picked the stars as it seemed to be the only one that denoted \’garden\’ to me….??…….2nd choice would be the lobster as it is
probably the one most would relate to and would be more dramatic on the cover. I see the results right now favor the stars….interesting. Sharks just didn\’t fit with your title for me, though they are nice shots.
idea: maybe do a number of these shots in a decopauge (sp?) type pic that shows all the variety in the NJ \’garden\’………
ciao

The’re all nice photos but when I think of N.J. diving I think of wrecks.

#4 is the clear choice as it shows the garden of Nj like your title, but what about them on shipwreck?. Photography is superb as always. But I agree with Declan…NJ is shipwrecks, but put some marinelife on them.

For those of you who wonder, the book currently has 232 photos. They break down as 134 marine life photos, 3 people or diver photos, 52 artificial reef photos, 43 shipwreck photos and 1 landscape. I know that divers want to see a shipwreck on the cover but I wanted something that non-divers might recognize. Keep up the voting and thanks.

Lion’s Mane Jellyfish is my fav. She looks like she’s dancing!

I picked the lions mane because it is the touresty one which is the one I would see most often.
I also liked the black sea bass, the lobster and both anemones with mussels.
They are the best pictures.
Thanks,
Bill

Beautiful pictures. I would go for Sea Stars, hands down, for a book cover. Gorgeous & good luck!

My friend Marty once told me you have to narrow your field of view to really appreciate the array of marine life in NJ. Photo three captures this perfectly.
Good luck with the book!

When selecting a cover to represent NJ’s underwater garden I’m inclined to an image that shows not only the beauty, but the health of the ecosystem. The sensitive, low-on-the-food-chain filter feeders in Cover 8 thrive in a stable environment, have a visual resemblance to a garden and are a barometer of NJ’s marine environment. Or for pure visual appeal, I like the lobster photo for color and contrast.

I think the Frilled Anemones & Blue Mussels 1 fits the title. (Although I think I’d like an Octopus’s Garden like the Beatles.) Even though it might not be best for your cover, I love the Goosefish as it was one of my husbands favorite fish. All your photos are fantastic and I can’t wait to see your book!

ALL ARE GREAT. THANK YOU MFOR ALL YOU DO FOR NJ.

I picked the goosefish, (mostly because you didn’t call it a monkfish). Great Photo. At first I thought it was a carpet shark, but then after a closer look it was clear it was old ugly.
