DIVE BUDDIESI have been diving for many years and I have been fortunate to have some great diving buddies and friends and family that help out on the boat. They have all be invaluable to me in my quest to document the marine environment and it's inhabitants. This page is dedicated to them. Please take the time to learn about these terrific people who have helped me more than I can say. I will be adding more information and more photos in the future. Please check back again |

Veronica SegarsMy wife is my biggest supporter and I would not be able to accomplish what I do without her help. She is a certified diver but has not been able to dive because of her multiple sclerosis. She may suffer from MS but it sure doesn't hold her down. Her favorite place in the world is to be on the boat. She is the ultimate boat mommy. She makes sure that we have all our gear when we enter the water; follows us to the bow at the beginning of our dives and waits on the bow until we return home. She always knows where we are by following our bubbles. Her help is invaluable and she deserves equal credit for all the photos that you see on this site. Tony AuriliaTony has been diving with us for a number of years. We originally met as members of the Metuchen Underwater Divers (MUD) dive club. Tony is one of the old school divers who used dive tables and did not given into the lure of the dive computer. Tony's favorite meals from the ocean are blue mussels & North American lobster. Tony is retired and doesn't dive anymore but he tries to get out on the boat with us whenever he can. He especially likes it when we stop for mussels. Beth DalzellBeth has been my dive buddy for a number of years. She is a YMCA instructor and keeps an eye on me while we are diving. As a photographer, I am not the best buddy, especially when I am really concentrating on a photo. Beth makes sure that I keep an eye on my computer and my gauges. She let's me know if we are getting close to our max bottom time and doesn't let me lose track of our hang time. She also points out marine life that I might not have noticed during our dive. She is our official blue mussel harvester. We make a number of people happy with seafood fresh from the Atlantic. To see more photos of Beth, click on the photo or here . |

Wes DalzellWes is a non-diver but has been another invaluable member of the dive crew. He assists the diver's when they get suited up, handles the anchoring when we arrive and depart a dive site and keeps us all smiling with his upbeat demeanor. His job has been traveling often and we look forward to the weekends when he is able to be part of the crew once again. Click here or on Wes's photo to see more photos. Gerry NielGerry and his wife, Jaye have also been diving with us for a number of years. Gerry is a member of the Garden State Underwater Dive Unit and is an aspiring underwater photographer. Gerry shoots with a Canon SLR in an Ikelite housing with an Ikelite 225 strobe. Gerry and Jaye have moved to North Carolina so we only get to dive with them on warm water dive trips now. Joe PakanJoe was my original dive buddy. We dove together for many years until Joe and his wonderful wife, Sue retired and now live in The Villages, Florida. I get to dive with Joe on warm water dive trips and on trips to the Florida Keys or manatee adventures in Crystal River, Florida. To see more of Joe, click the photo or here . |

Sue PakanSue is another non-diving member of our crew. Sue enjoys soaking in the sun and helping us with whatever boat chore is necessary. Sue is our lookout for tankers, freighters and container ships. She doesn't waste anytime letting us know when they come over the horizon. Now that she lives in Florida, she is sorely missed. Robin ReedRobin and her husband, Warren, are the newest members of our dive crew. Robin took an underwater photography course from me a few years ago and has since moved on to become an accomplished underwater photographer. Her move to digital photography has been one of the best things that has happened to her. She really has taken to digital photography both with the camera and in the computer. Robin is an enthusiastic diver who loves the cool, green waters off the New Jersey coast. Robin and Warren have moved to Delray Beach, Florida and we now dive when we visit Florida or take a warm water dive trip. We really miss both of them. Warren ReedWarren is a YMCA assistant instructor and one of the stronger members of our dive crew. He has great diving skills and is terrific with underwater navigation. When we dive with Warren, we always know that we will find out way back to the boat. Warren loves to explore shipwrecks and to catch lobsters. Warren also helped with the anchoring chores when Wes is not available. Warren is now a Florida resident and he has told me that he doesn't miss wearing a dry suit when he dives. He is a great friend and I don't see him nearly enough. To see more of Warren, click on the photo or here . |

| Roy "Bear" Sorensen Roy and his wife Deb have been diving with me for almost twenty years. He is a YMCA instructor and our resident gadget man. If there is something new on the market for diving, Roy will probably have it or will get it soon. Our one concern with him is that we have enough deck space for his gear. Roy also keeps me supplied in dive gear. Roy is an excellent diver who loves to make buoy dives and exploring dive sites that are not visited often. Roy has been a prime subject in many of my New Jersey shipwreck pictures. Roy has moved on to other things and doesn't dive anymore. Click on the photo or here to see more of Bear. |
